Summer is coming and irritating cellulite should vanish, but unfortunately this does not work overnight and not with any ointments or the like, which can usually only alleviate the symptoms slightly. The cause and not only the consequences should be treated. The cause for a weakness of the connective tissue – i.e. cellulite, stretch marks, varicose veins, spider veins and loose skin – is usually due to hyperacidity.
What is the connective tissue
The connective tissue is not only responsible for the aesthetics of the skin but also the central site for the supply of nutrients and the removal of harmful substances from our cells. An elementary and complex tissue system that forms the basic system of the body, the so-called fascial tissue. It is a three-dimensional net, which not only supports the outer shell of the body, but is also found between tissues, vessels and organs. The connective tissue forms the framework of all organs with the exception of the brain. Between the cells of the reticular connective tissue there is a fluid called interstitial fluid. The composition of this fluid is almost identical to that of seawater.
Functions of the connective tissue
The connective tissue has several different functions. It supports and protects bones, cartilage, organs, fatty tissue, tendons and ligaments. Therefore, depending on the consistency of the fibre components, the connective tissue is divided into either bone, cartilage or supporting tissue. Depending on its function, the connective tissue has different characteristics and can be divided into loose, tight, collagenous and reticular structures. The basis for the connective tissue is formed by connective tissue cells, different fibre components and the substances between the individual cells. The connective tissue cells can be so pronounced that they can leave their position or are firmly embedded.
Cause-related research: How does cellulite develop?
If the body is chronically overacidified, the excess acids can only be neutralised very slowly and accumulation occurs in the connective tissue. This leads to the development of connective tissue acidosis and a massive reduction of the base buffer reserves. This leads to numerous complaints such as allergies, lack of concentration, inflammatory mucous membrane changes, chronic fatigue, muscle and joint complaints, rheumatic complaints and other specific and unspecific symptoms. Overacidity is usually associated with diet. The connection between nutrition and the human acid-base balance and the associated diseases is controversially discussed. However, it is clear that our Western diet consists of too much animal protein, which is acid-forming, and too few base-forming minerals such as magnesium, calcium or potassium, which are mainly found in fruit and vegetables.
What can be done to combat cellulite holistically?
In order to counteract a weak connective tissue, the acid-base balance should definitely be brought back into balance. This can be achieved, as already mentioned, with the right diet, a diet rich in alkalis, which consists of lots of fresh fruit and vegetables. Oats and millet, for example, contain a lot of silicon, which is very important for an elastic and firm connective tissue. You should also drink at least 2 litres of still water a day. An initial detoxification cure would be advantageous in any case.
The connective tissue should not only be strengthened from the inside but also from the outside, which is why daily exercise is essential.
Daily alternating showers (alternating hot and cold water) and subsequent brush massages can also alleviate the symptoms. If one suffers from being overweight, this should absolutely be reduced. If there is a predisposition, these measures can prevent connective tissue weakness. They cannot be prevented completely, but they can at least be alleviated.
